George Franklin Vick

George served in the United States Army. He will always be remembered as a friendly man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and was a huge fan of the Carolina Tarheels. He was a member of Daniels Chapel Church in Wilson. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Mr. Linwood Vick and Mrs. Bonnie Jones Vick, two brothers; Linwood “Ben” Vick Jr. and David Vick, and two sisters; Jean Barbour and Dorothy Lucas.

George is survived by his daughter Stacey Vick Maddrey and husband Gene of Sims, one sister Celia Garris Overman, three grandchildren; Thorne Maddrey, Ethan Maddrey and Caleb Maddrey, and one special friend Jimmy Sykes.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 6:30 pm at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC 27896. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home and will be officiated by Pastor Greg Barnes. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Wilson.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the kind and compassionate care given by Dr. Matrone, Eric, and Patricia Lucas and all the nurses and staff at Wilson Medical Center, as well as Supreme Love and Trinity Retirement.
