Janice Jennings Thorne, age 86, slipped into the arms of Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice in Greenville, NC with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Walter Jennings and Mary Irene Wilford Jennings and was also predeceased by her daughter Felicia “Lisa” Thorne.
Janice was a loving wife and mother who will be remembered for her love and kindness toward her family and friends and animals.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 68 years Kenneth Ray Thorne, her daughter Rae Starling and her husband Jim of Elm City and special friends Maryanne and Bud.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home with the Rev. David K. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
