JESSE DANIEL DIXON Jesse Daniel Dixon, 87, went home to the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2015.He was the husband of the late Mary Frances Evans Dixon. Born in Wilson County, March 19, 1928, a son of the late Henry Thomas and Victoria Page Dixon, he had been an area resident for most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army and had been employed at Swift and Company until his retirement. He is survived by his daughters, Shirley Ellis and her husband Donnie of Sharpsburg, and Lucinda Johnson and her husband James of Elm City; his sons, Phil Dixon and Daniel Dixon, both of Elm City, and Michael Dixon and his companion Dillon Haynes of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Brian Dixon of Elm City, Jessica Willurd and her husband Daniel of Bath, Kelly Ellis of Sharpsburg, and Jason Johnson of Elm City; his great-grandchildren, Sean Hopkins, Gage Dixon, and Wyatt Willurd; his sister, Jean “Boots” Langley of Wilson; his brother, Carlton :Duke” Dixon and his wife Jean of Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Inez Dixon and Lucille Dixon, and his brothers, William Henry Dixon, Edward Lee Dixon, James Norris Dixon, and Thomas Atlas Dixon. Funeral services will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St., Wilson, with a visitation to follow.
