

Annie Ruth McWhorter, age 86 of Winder, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2017. She was a member of The Winder First Baptist Church and the owner of ARMCO Carpet Company since 1974. Annie Ruth was a very family oriented lady who loved and cherished all of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Lee and Ruth Howell Bowen; her husband, William Bryant McWhorter; a daughter, Judy Ann McWhorter and two sisters, Ruby and Frances Bowen. Annie Ruth is survived by three sons, Ted McWhorter (Patti) of Athens, Bruce McWhorter (Linda) of Johns Creek and Rob McWhorter (Susan) of Winder; a daughter, Pam Davis (Steve) of Lawrenceville; a sister, Wynelle Hornsby of Grantville; 11 grandchildren, Erin Whitlow (Clint), Bo McWhorter (Lindsey), Seth McWhorter (Claire), Bryan McWhorter (Natalie), Drew McWhorter, Sam McWhorter, Alex Marbut (Brett), Jessie McWhorter, Colin, Nick, and Ben Davis and three great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Whitlow, Jackson and Ellie McWhorter. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8PM Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11AM Friday, January 26, 2018 at The Winder First Baptist Church with Pastors Benny Pate and Chad Mantooth officiating. The family will have a private interment in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to The Barrow County Cancer Society. The family would like to give special thanks to Northeast Georgia Hospice and Annie Ruth's caregivers, Angela Kuykendall, Angie Durham, Valerie Cheek, Melanie Bays and Mary Ann Mitchell for all of their loving care and support.
