Betty Sue Nix

Betty Sue Nix, 92 of Statham, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024. She was a native of DeKalb County, GA. Betty was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith. She spent her life as a loving homemaker to her husband and children. Betty was a giving person who loved using her talents in plastic art, crocheting, and quilting for gifts for her friends and family.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Alice Parker Nicholson; her husband of 43 years, William Nix Sr.; and her siblings: Ronald Nicholson, Alva Nicholson, Hendrix Nicholson, Virginia Dallas, Jeanette Conner, Barbara Myers, Lou Alice Mills, Jewell Buffington and Elizabeth Coffer. Betty is survived by her children: William “Bill” Nix Jr. (Cindy) of Gainesville, Brenda Cronan (Alvin) of Covington and Gail Parker (Mike) of Monroe; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held from 6PM until 9PM Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Funeral Services will be at 2PM Friday, March 15, 2024 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, with Pastor Tommy Fountain officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
