Betty Ann Segars

Betty Ann Segars, age 92 of Winder, passed on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Betty lived in Barrow County her entire life. She was a graduate of Statham High School. She worked at Greeson Homes for 22 years and retired as a secretary for the Barrow County Sheriff's Office. She was a lifelong member of Winder First Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 53 and the VFW Auxiliary.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Bessie Tarpley Wood, and her husband of 61 years, Bill Segars. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Wood, Shannon Wood, Doug Wood, Sara Chandler, and Hazel Sims.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Wanda Frachiseur of Sugar Hill, Vickie (Gary) Webb of Winder, and Chrystal Segars of Winder; five grandchildren: Tony Webb, Raina Goss, Brandi Reeves, Josh Frachiseur, and Kristie Rees; twelve greatgrandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home in Winder, GA, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Her funeral service will be held in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 1:30 pm. Rev. Irby Stanley will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Betty to the Building Fund of Winder First Baptist Church.
