Bonnie Freeman Queen, age 78 of Statham, went to be with the Lord Tuesday May 5, 2020. Bonnie was born in Bogart and lived most of her life in Statham. She became disabled in the late 50's and was faithfully cared for by her mother Carolyn until they both went in the nursing home in July 2016. She was a faithful member of the Winder Church of Christ. She loved music and would sing along if music was played or someone sang along with her. A high point in Bonnie's life was when Johnny Carson flew her and her mother to Los Angles for Carolyn's guest appearance and interview on his June 16, 1989 show. They also got to meet Burt Reynolds back stage, and Burt kissed Bonnie on the cheek. Burt was a favorite of hers after that and she would always smile when his name was mentioned. Bonnie was an only child and was preceded in death by her mother; Carolyn Crow Freeman. Bonnie is survived by several cousins; Jean Pitts (Howard), Melvin Anthony, Mervin (Reetha) Anthony, Janie Hudson. A graveside service will be held at Barrow Memorial Gardens on Friday at 1:00pm May 8, 2020. Rev. John R. Gross will officiate.
