Carole Linda Smith

Carole Linda Smith, age 82, of Winder, Georgia, passed away on December 4, 2025. Born in Atlanta to the late James and Margaret Byars, Linda made Winder her home for more than forty years. She was the founder and pastor of Love of God Mission, where she faithfully served her congregation and community for forty-one years. Her life was a true testament to God’s love, and she shared that love with everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Smith and her two sons, Gary Smith and Jimmy Smith.

She is survived by her children, Fred (Melissa) Smith, David (Lilia) Smith, Wanda Martin, and Mary (Michael) Moon; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nancy Diane Gilbert.

Linda’s compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of faith and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.

May those who loved her find comfort in knowing she has gone home to her Lord, and may her memory forever be a blessing and a light that guides us all.

A Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. Her Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in Smith Memory Chapel. The interment will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
