Charles "Charlie" Hampton Owen Jr., age 63, of Statham, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. Charlie was part of the baseball team in Barrow County that won a state championship in 1977. He later coached baseball, football, softball, and soccer.
He is predeceased by his mother Joan Owen and brother in law Keith Greeson.
Charlie is survived by his father Charles Hampton Owen, Sr.; son, Charles Hampton "Trey" (Jennifer) Owen, lll; daughters: Amber (Nic) Owen Glenn and Sarah (Luke) Lackore; step son, Jacob Couch; brother, Scott Owen; sister, Mary "Cissy" Greeson; and his grandchildren: Adalynn, Henley, Hollyn, and Lakelynn.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. Following the visitation will be a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel.
