Debra “Debbie” F. Tapp, age 68, of Winder, Georgia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Debbie was born on August 3, 1956, in Oconee County to the late Melvin McCoy Self and Ruby Nell Brown Self. She was the youngest of 9 children and the only one to be born in a hospital. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Cornerstone Christian Church where she taught Sunday School. She loved working alongside her husband as a Minister’s wife, and was very talented, supportive, and active in the ministry. She was always faithful to her church and her Lord. Debbie loved people and never met a stranger. She was happy at the beach, going shopping, and going to yard sales. Debbie was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, and friend to all.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her siblings: Agnes Craft, Nell Stephens, Martha Morrell, Charles Self, John William Self, and Wayne Self; and her daughter, Patty Jean Sims.
Left to cherish the memories they made are her loving husband of 34 years, Hal Tapp; her son, Jason (Deanne) Sims of Hartwell; stepdaughter, Debra (Scott) Cox of Warner Robins; grandchildren: Rachel Clem, David Clem, Harper Sims, and Abigail Boykin; and brothers: Roy Self of Hull, and Danny Self of Ila.
