Mr. Don E. Casper

Don E. Casper, age 57 of Winder, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Don was a veteran serving his country in the United States Army. He retired from Thrall Car after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Winfred “RED” Casper and Helen Hayes Price; three brothers, Darrell, Dan and Doyle Casper and a sister, Rena Adams. Don is survived by his loving companion of over 20 years, Deborah Green; two sons, Don Casper Jr. (Crystle) of Covington and Christopher Casper of Winder; two daughters, Jennifer Smith (Greg) of Flowery Branch and Kimberly Casper (David) of Winder; a sister, Rita Lumley of Winder; five grandchildren, Ethan Casper, Georgia and Bryson Smith and Amber and Ashley Morris. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 6 until 9:00PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev’s Terry Casper and Frankie Green officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to The St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.
