Emerson Hardy Cone, 77 of Statham, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024. He was a native of Hinesville, GA and graduated from Bradwell Institute. Hardy was an aircraft mechanic in the Army National Guard and retired after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gardner Cone and Dora O’Neil Cone. Hardy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bertie Crosby Cone of Statham; a daughter, Tabitha Cone of Statham; four brothers: Bill Cone (Tonya) of Griffin, Randy Cone (Kim) of VA, Tony Cone (Cathy) of Pembroke, and Tim Cone of Eatonton; two grandchildren: Joshua and Victoria Heard; and two great-grandchildren: Elijah Arnold and Noah Daniel.
Funeral services will be at 2PM Friday, January 3, 2025 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Garrett Cone officiating. Interment will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The Family will receive friends from 12PM until 2PM before the service.
