
Frances Louise Moore Simpson, 86, died on February 7, 2013 following stroke complications. Born October 9, 1926 in Bethlehem, GA, she was a native of Barrow County but had lived in Oklahoma since 1981, specifically Tuttle, OK, for a majority of that time. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Gartrelle and Abie Louise Griffeth Moore, and grandson, Anthony Bennett. She is survived by her children: daughter, Delores Simpson, Auburn, GA; daughter, Melanie and Jamie Schneider, Gainesville, GA; daughter, Gay and Loyte Bennett, Dawsonville, GA; son, Durward Simpson, Athens, GA; and daughter, Donna and Larry Windsor, Tuttle, OK; nine grandchildren (Stephen, David, Jason, April, Carrie, Katy, James Ross, Jessica, and Rachel); 11 great grandchildren (Payton, Hope, Chase, Taylor, Colton, Mayson, Grady, Clara Jean, Josie Frances, Luke, and Kaitlyn); sisters, Dorothy Peppers and Geraldine Doster; Aunt Mary Anthony and Uncle Edd Griffith; brothers/sisters-in-law, Joy and Ben Black, Pat and Bobby Whitmire, and numerous cousins. Her varied interests were church, reading, music, all things needlework, and any activity involving the grands and great grands.
She was a former member of The Eastern Star, sang in Sweet Adeline’s, served as Sunday School Teacher and officer of Women’s Society of Christian Service (UMW). Though she experienced a variety of unique employments, her most loved job was nurturing and being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home in Winder, GA, with Rev. Ed Demirgian of Gainesville officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Carl Baptist Cemetery, Carl, GA.
