Gayle Mobley Ferguson, age 76, of Winder, GA, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. During her life, she worked as a paraprofessional for the Barrow County Department of Education. She was an avid UGA sports fan, a creative florist, and she enjoyed traveling and cooking. Gayle was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse William and Frances Pauline Davis Mobley. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Fred Ferguson of Winder; her daughter, Lisa (Mike) Drake of Winder; four sons, Freddie (Beverly) Ferguson of Winder, Andy (Debbie) Ferguson of Statham, GA, Kevin (Brenda) Ferguson of Winder, and Mitch (Kendra) Ferguson of Monroe, GA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-9:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, on Friday, May 3, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church, Statham, on Saturday, May 4, 2013. The burial will follow the service at Statham Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
