James "Jim" W. Lail, Sr.

James "Jim" W. Lail, Sr. age 86, of Statham, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Jim was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman. Jim was a poultry farmer and was the former owner of Lail Poultry Farm and the former owner and founder of Jim's Belt Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Flossie Estelle and Robert Dennis Lail. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, James William Lail, Jr.; daughters: Sharon Ginder and Mary Jane Smith; brother, Dennis Lail; sisters: Margaret Smith and Mary Kendrick; and a grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Lail; sons: Kenny (Juanita) Clanton and Jimmy (Deborah) Clanton all of Statham; brothers: Harvey (Sonja) Lail of Maryville, WA, Terry (Sandra) Lail of Loganville, GA, and Mickey (Ruth) Lail of Collinsworth, AL; sister, Connie Lail; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, January 8, 2023 from 5PM until 8PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, GA. The Funeral Service will on Tuesday, January 9 at 12PM in Smith Memory Chapel with Pastor Terry Lail officiating. The burial will be at 1:30PM at Eternal Hills in Snellville, GA.
