James William Thrower, III

James (Jim) William Thrower, III, age 66, of Winder, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was born to James William Thrower, Jr and Francis Powell in Pineville, North Carolina on April 22, 1958. Later, Jim’s family moved to Georgia where he graduated from Stone Mountain High School. Jim spent most of his adult life in Covington, Georgia. He was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church. Jim loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He was a loving Paw Paw, father, brother, friend, and son. He had a passion for gardening. He was quite the storyteller and could put a smile on anyone's face.

He is predeceased by his mother Francis Little Powell and stepfather Ray G. Powell.

Jim is survived by his father James William Thrower, Jr and his wife Linda Thrower of Pineville, NC; partner, Cathy O'Neill of Winder, GA; son and daughter in-law Justin & Lea Thrower of Summerville, SC; daughter and son in-law, Brooke & Phillip Capes of Newborn, GA; sister, Julie (David) Klingensmith of Smyrna, SC; grandchildren: Olin, Perry, and Emory Capes of Newborn, GA; Jackson Thrower of Summerville, SC; Cassidy, Kelsey, Makayla, and Mattie O'Neill of Georgia; three nieces; and numerous other family members.

A memorial service for Jim will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Nativity Lutheran Church, 1079 Bethlehem Church Rd, Bethlehem, Georgia 30620.
