

James Wylie "Cowboy Jim" Watts, Sr., age 73, of Jefferson, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. He was born May 22, 1948 in Oklahoma. "Cowboy Jim" was a member of Living Word Baptist Church and was employed as a Superintendent with Skyline Excavation, LLC, in Jefferson. He was a Yaarab Shrine Clown, a 29 year member of Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #421, a member of the USTRC (United States Team Roping Championships), and the Statham chapter of the Sons of The American Legion. "Cowboy Jim' loved dancing, family, and his grandbabies.
"Cowboy Jim" was predeceased by his parents Needom Joseph Watts and Thelma Tipton Watts Gallup and several brothers, sisters and one grandchild. He is survived by sons: James (Moe) Watts, Jr. of Clarkesville, Jason (Shannon) Skelton of Jefferson, and Jody Phillips of Brooksville, FL; daughters: Kelly (Andy) McDaniel of Lorena, TX, Angela Whitton of Waco, TX, and Mary (Dan) Olmstead of Covington; sixteen grandchildren including Augustus Watts and Nicole Nemec; eleven great-grandchildren; sister Robbie (Thad) Nabors of Ponder, TX; and friend Linda Floyd of Bethlehem.
Funeral Services for "Cowboy Jim" will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 am in Smith Memory Chapel. A visitation for family and friends will be at Smith Funeral Home on Friday evening, December 3, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
