Mr. J.G. Turner, age 81, of Athens, GA, died Sunday, October 19, 2014. A native of West Virginia, he is a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Turner retired from AT&T. He is survived by his wife, Ernee Turner; daughters, Teri and Eddie Jackson, of Statham; Devre & Brad Brannon, of Athens; sons, Dave Turner and Jerry Turner; four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Visitation will be held Monday, October 20, from 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 21, in the Smith Memory Chapel with Rev. Jack Segars officiating. A military burial will follow in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
