John and I were friends at Marietta High School. We used to pass notes to each other when we were on our way to our next class- notes written in Study Hall, no less! The last time I saw him was at the Lakewood Antique market. Such a great guy!

You are missed everyday. So many things I wish  I could share with you. Love on this birthday in heaven and everyday.

John was a fine man and a truly talented designer.   He helped me with several offices and residences over many years. I was well pleased in every way with his work. I regarded him as a friend and a reliable advisor.
I am profoundly sorry that he is gone.

How do you tell all that John meant to me?  It would be impossible.    John always made me feel like a princess!  Too many fun times to recount here.  We will all get together when we can to celebrate his life.  I loved him so much.  

MY heart is a lonelier place without my dear friend. I will miss his Christmas Cards with his beautiful writing as well as his humor and friendship.  We have know each other over28 years and my house still reflects his talent.  There will never be a replacement of my dear friend John.  This Christmas he will celebrate in Heaven!!

My uncle john was always a fan of the theater, the last big experience we shared was going to see Hugh Jackman's world tour in Atlanta together. Thanks for helping me to appreciate culture Uncle John

John was a dear friend of mine for thirty years.  Always a true devoted friend who unselfishly gave his talents and loved making our homes beautiful.  I remember celebrating when he was honored  by ADAC as designer of the year. I remember him being a friend during sad times and happy times and all I have to do to remember him every day is to look around my home that he made so beautiful for us.

I have known John since the early 1970’s.  We met in Daytona Beach and it became  regular vacation spot for us. 
I was in Atlanta for business a couple times a year and he and I always met for dinner at the Colonnade.  John would come to my booth at Atlanta Pride to visit and people watch. 

John called me about a month ago to catch up. We agreed to see each other when the pandemic settled down. 

What a treasure John was and it has been a treat catching up year after year. 
The world is a little less colorful now that he has left the room.  I’m sure he is catching up with so many people whose lives he touched over the years. 

Rest well buddy and we shall cross paths again. 

John, we will remember you. Many years, and oh, so many times together. Your talents brought many of us together and we learned. You were an interesting guy,

I knew John my whole life, and have too many memories to try to parse them out.  Instead, my recollections are a fond blend of meals at The Colonnade, Shillings on the Square, and the Marietta Conference Center, enthusiastic conversations about new and classic movies, and his nostalgia for days gone by (amongst many other things).  All the times and conversations run together and leave me both sad and happy.  

We will all miss him terribly, but will smile warmly whenever we think of him.  

I had the privilege of working for John Craft for many years and have so many great stories.  He had the best sense of humor and was beyond generous to everyone he was friends with.  Every day without fail around 5pm John would lounge on his chaise covered in Brunschwig and Fils Chinese Leopard Toile and watch the news & we would go over the days events.  During the week we would have lunch at one of John’s favorite spots such as Lindy’s, The Colonnade, OK Cafe, and Silver Skillet to name a few. We both shared a love of Mario Buatta’s interiors and for dog paintings.  I remember John went to New York to see one of Mario’s last show house rooms & brought me back the program which I keep on my desk.   John I hope you know what a huge impact you made on me and led me on my correct path.  Love you always, Jimmy 

We would have dinner 3 nights a week at least at the colonnade restaurant Both of us ordering prime rib medium rare.

John was a very good friend.  He had lots of stories to tell and they kept me laughing.    We had many lunches together at the Colonnade in Atlanta, and he always told everyone he met that we went to high school together.    That seemed to mean a lot to him.
    I am really going to miss John.

I knew John professionally working with him throughout his interior design career. He was truly a talented & gifted designer with lifelong clients.

I also knew him as a friend with each encounter being unique. I never knew which John was going to show up - the bawdy John who made me laugh ‘til I cried or the sweet & sincerely kind John who made my heart smile.

I will miss him!

So sadden to hear of the loss of this long-time,  treasured friend.  He will be missed greatly.  Have many fond memories including seeing John and Jo Ellen at the wonderful "Home for the Holidays" performance at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta.  Seems only yesterday we were off to the Marietta High football games or celebrating the new year at the fabulous "Robinson's Tropical Gardens," now the Canoe Restaurant in Vinings.  My prayers and special thoughts go out to Donald and Steve and their families.  John was truly "one of a kind" with his witty humor.  Gene Phillips

John was one of the sweetest most talented people I have ever known.  It was an honor to work with someone so talented and also to have him as a good friend. 

I am very sad with the passing of my dear friend John. I am so thankful  that he was in my life. We shared some wonderful times together. I will cherish his friendship forever. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time  

I worked with John Craft for 20 years in the design business, he had a unique sense of style.    He was a pleasure to work with, I enjoyed his big personality, his style and presence.  He will be missed.

John was a masterful interior designer, a bon vivant and a lot of fun to be around. He was a very kind soul and a true inspiration throughout my career. He will be deeply missed.

John was a dear friend to my late wife, Carol, and me.  He was a very talented designer,  and he and my wife had worked together on many design projects and Decorator Show House rooms.  He was loved and admired  in the community.  My prayers go out for him.

I loved John`s sense of humor. He had a nack for telling great stories and making us laugh.  I am so glad to have known him, and wish I could have known him better.
