

Larry Keith Ballard, 64 years of age, went to be with the Lord Jesus on May 19, 2021. Son of late, Joe Ballard, of Greenville, WV. And late Eula May Austin, Mother. Larry K. Ballard was born March 3, 1957 in Elkton, Maryland. Larry was employed at Solvay, in Winder, GA for 30 years. Larry was active in his community, serving on the Barrow County Board of Education for 4 years and serving in the political realm. Larry has known Jesus as Lord and Savior for many years and has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Statham, GA since April 2010. He was an active Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching God’s Word and serving the people of the church and the community. Larry was a strong advocate for those enslaved by alcohol and drug abuse and was a founding leader at the RU program at Calvary Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed playing golf for many years and most recently enjoyed hunting and running in the woods with his beagle dogs. Larry was preceded in death by his Father, Joe Ballard, Mother, Eula Mae Austin and brother, Paul Ballard. Larry is survived by his wife, Susan E. Ballard of Auburn, GA, sister Jeanne Gullette of Union, WV and Aunt, Nancy Ballard of Greenville, WV. Also survived by children, Isaac Ballard, Jennifer Woodard, Joshua Ballard and Racheal Sheffield. Survived by stepchildren, Cynthia MacDonald, Jennifer Head, Sarah Hernandez and Jonathan Starnes. Survived by grandchildren, Trinity Alloy, Cooper Ballard, Kylar Ballard, Braelyn Sheffield, Daniel MacDonald, Elizabeth MacDonald, Ethan MacDonald, Cassidy Head, Devin Hernandez, Kole Hernandez, Jase Starnes and Charleigh Starnes. Larry loved his children (and their spouses) and grandchildren, with all his heart. His desire was for them all to come to know the Lord Jesus, in a personal way, as their own Lord and Savior. A funeral service will be held at 3PM Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, Statham, GA with Rev's Matt Dibler, Lindell Hunsley and David VanWey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Calvary Baptist Church.
