Born in Rockmart, GA she was the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Mary E. Hightower Wingard. She was a member of New Pentecost United Methodist Church. Her husband, Autrey H. Bohannon; daughter, Linda Bellamy; sister, Martha Landrum; and grandson, Jakob Bellamy preceded her in death.
Survivors include: her sons, Larry Bohannon and Tommy Bohannon, both of Winder; daughter, Brenda Payne of Oxford; sister, Jemmie Vanderlip of Athens; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at New Pentecost United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Pittman officiating. She will lie in state from 2:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to New Pentecost United Methodist Church – Pat Mays, 832 Whispering Pine Rd. Winder, GA 30680.
