Nancy Marie Franklin

Nancy Marie Franklin, aged 73, of Bethlehem, GA, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025 in her home. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Frank and Fran Leakey. Nancy had been a resident of Bethlehem, GA since 2003, having moved from Tucker, GA.

Her journey was marked by love, kindness, and unwavering faith in God. She was a member of the Bethlehem Church and found joy in spending time with her small group. Nancy was known for her love of gardening, crafting, and hunting for deals at yard sales. She had a knack for taking older things that people have used and cherished and giving them her own story. Up until the end, Nancy maintained her grace, compassion, and love of family and friends. She often expressed gratitude for her life, full of wonderful and varied experiences. Nancy loved nothing more than quality time with her family and grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Fran Leakey, and her son Robbie Whaley. She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Heather) Whaley; siblings: David (Jan) Leakey, Janet (Jeff) Ross, and Valerie Blalock; and two grandchildren: Jackson and Blake, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Smith Funeral Home, Winder, has charge of arrangements.
