

Mr. Vickery was a native of Dawson, Alabama. He served the United States faithfully in the Army where he rose to the positon of Staff Sargent during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Vickery later retired from Lockheed Martin. He was a member of Central Oconee Church of Christ.
Mr. Vickery is preceded in death by his parents; Belton Hayes Vickery and Ruby Gertrude Rider Vickery, and daughter, Elizabeth Jean Vickery.
Mr. Vickery is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Anne Vickery of Winder; sons, Jody (Lisa) Vickery of Huntersville, Alabama, Scott (Christy) Vickery of Bethlehem, and Andrew (Danetha) Vickery of Atlanta; daughter, Laurie (Aaron) Sain of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Jim Vickery of Cumming; sisters, Gwen Haynes of Brunswick, and Becky Griggs of Illinois; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild survives.
The Funeral Service to honor the life of Mr. Vickery will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Smith Memory Chapel with Rev. David Sain officiating. Burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday morning, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
