Parks "Dan" Daniel Ellington, Sr.

Parks "Dan" Daniel Ellington, Sr., age 78, of Little River, South Carolina passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. Dan was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He retired after 37 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. Dan was the son of the late Parks Bankston Ellington, Jr. and Lillian Estelle McDowell Ellington. In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his son, Jason Wayne Ellington; brother, David Ellington; and sisters: Shirley Olson and Alice Camp.

Dan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Jawan Glover Ellington; son, Dan (Robyn) Ellington, Jr. of Hudson, Florida; daughter, TeeRee Moon of Winder; seven grandchildren: Linda Leigh Smith, Marcus Sentelle, Melanie Berry, Emily Michelle Ellington, Brandy Davis, Christopher Ellington, and Kristine Ostrander; and fourteen great-grandchildren: Allison Smith, Mason Sentelle, Nathan Sentelle, Kinley Sentelle, Kaylee Davis, Ava Davis, Riley Davis, Braydon Davis, Madeline Ellington, Oakland Ostrander, Rhett Ostrander, Ellwayn Ostrander, Alyssa Riser and Chandler Riser.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder, Georgia 30680, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM in Smith Memory Chapel. Dan will be laid to rest in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
