Mr. Ray Maynard

Ray Maynard, age 74 of Winder passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. He was a member of Winder First Baptist Church. Ray started his career with Atlanta Gas Light Company afterwards becoming the owner of Southwestern Ford in Americus, GA. Ray was currently a partner of Kidz Academy pre-school and loved driving a bus route there. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Susie Blizzard Maynard; a brother, Robert Maynard; and a sister, Nancy Cotterman. He is survived by his wife, Patti Maynard of Winder; a son, Billy Maynard (Tina) of Statham; a daughter, Angela Healan (David) of Hoschton; a brother, John Maynard; four grandchildren, Kristi Hill, Amanda David, Will and Matt Maynard; six great-grandchildren, Madissyn, Kole, Kam, Myles, Piper and Millie. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 6 until 8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home, Winder, GA. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Barrow Memorial Gardens with Dr. John Talley officiating. Donations may be made to The Winder First Baptist Church building fund “Pay Down and Pass On” 625 Jefferson Hwy, Winder, GA 30680. Arrangements under the direction of Smith Memory Chapel, Winder, GA.
