Born in Monroe to the late Mr. and Mrs. Doff and Maggie Johnson Greene. He retired from General Motors and was a member of Bethany United Methodist church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Lorine Harrington Greene of Winder; daughter, Martha Patricia Parr of Monroe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nell and Don Magneley of Austell, Peggy and Bobby Byrd of Monroe, Carolyn and Clayton Lunsford of Madison, and Phyllis and Ty Hardigree of Watkinsville; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Lee Thornton of Monroe; 2 grandchildren, Lynne Turner Sachs and Lonnie Barger; and 1 great-grandchild, Travis Turner.
The family will receive friends 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012 in Smith Memory Chapel with Mr. Luther Wilkes officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society.
