William Arthur Sunderland

William Arthur Sunderland, affectionally known as "Mr. Bill", of Bethlehem, GA passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the age of 96. Mr. Bill was born in St. Marys, OH to the late John and Adah Sunderland. He was married to the late Lois Jean Cramer Sunderland. He served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard. Mr. Bill retired at 65 after having been a maintenance manager in manufacturing in plants in Ohio, Illinois, and Iowa. After his initial retirement, he moved to Georgia and continued to work various odd jobs. Mr. Bill was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, GA where he served God going on many mission trips to help build homes. Eventually, he was hired at Hill's Ace Hardware in Winder and worked there, serving customers, for over 25 years until he permanently retired on April 1, 2025 at the age of 96.

Mr. Bill is survived by his children: Deborah S. Routman of Indian Land, SC, W. Scott Sunderland of Auburn, GA, Elizabeth and Tom Lewis of Dallas, GA, and Ruth Walter of New Windsor, IL; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great - great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Nativity Lutheran Church, 1079 Bethlehem Church Rd, Bethlehem, GA, on Saturday, September 20 at 10:30 am.
