Recuerdos

Rev. Dr. BoJeong Kim

¿TIENE UN RECUERDO O UNA CONDOLENCIA QUE AÑADIR?

AÑADIR UN RECUERDO

I met Mr. Kim (the form of address we agreed upon after some discussion) some 20 years ago at his home in Windsor. Over the following year, I was privileged to enjoy many fine meals and gatherings with the Kim family.
When it came time for me to leave Windsor, Mr. Kim simply said, “I will miss you”. And I felt the same way, and have missed him and his kindness, humour, generosity, keen intellect, and mentorship over the years.

When I learned of his passing and found this obituary, I was heartened to see that he knew so many grandchildren, but at the same time, I can’t help feeling that he left this life too soon. To everyone in the Kim family, I am so sorry for your loss, as I know how dearly you loved him and how deeply he is missed.

With respect,
Scott

I first met BoJeong at Emmanuel College in 1991. Eleven years later, when I landed in Windsor, he was the first colleague to reach out and welcome me into the Presbytery. BoJeong was a committed and loyal friend, blessed with the gift of encouragement. He had a keen curious mind with a great passion for learning. He held nothing closer to his heart, however, than his dear Okja and his 4 children, of whom he was fiercely proud. God has welcomed him home. For his life, his ministry, his friendship, I give God thanks.

To The Kim Family,
I would first like to say that all of the eulogies at BoJeong's Memorial Service today were incredibly beautiful and moving. I was honoured to be able to hear your stories.
BoJeong is an inspiration and has helped my family and myself in the good times and especially the bad. A fond memory I have is when I struggled with my son. BoJeong let my son come to work with me at a time when he was struggling in elementary school and wouldn't go to school.....no questions asked. I always tell people that I was so lucky to have an employer like BoJeong. If I worked any where else, I would probably of had to quit to get through this trying time in our lives. I will forever be grateful to BoJeong for this.
You are an amazing family! I am so fortunate to know you.

To the Kim family may I extend condolences.

Jeanaha was my best friend in grade school. I spent many days at her house. Dr. Kim had a black van that would take the whole family on adventures. Jeanaha and I felt like queens when we got a ride in that van. Once, he took us all the way to the University, and let us read our books inside the van, the best "fort" ever. We promptly got tired of reading and being young hooligans, decided to have a screaming contest. After screaming as loud as we could for a few minutes, a kind stranger knocked on the door to see if we were alright. We both knew we were in big trouble! Dr. Kim may or may have not heard about that incident, but it was a very quiet ride on the way home. I can still picture his office in the basement which was "sacred ground".
It was obvious that he cared about everything from his family to his grapes to his research and faith. May he rest in peace and may his family take comfort knowing that he will live on.

Dear Kim Family
I only had the privilege of meeting your father a couple of times in the past but found him to be a very friendly and gentle man
I am sorry that distance prevented me from spending the time necessary to get to know him better.
Please know that I feel your pain at such a terrible loss and I hope that knowing that you can be thankful that your dad's life was filled with love from all those around him will help you through this very trying time.
Respectfully
Alan

To Bill and the entire Kim family,
With heavy hearts, we offer our condolences. May your family find strength in one another and share in the love your father/husband had for you all. The strong bond your family has is a testament to the type of man he was. He’s watching over you with love.

My memory of Bo Jeong was laughing together over coaching for his sermons at Emmanuel. He was always so worried about his pronunciation, yet it was always clear what he was saying! We had many laughs ...

I am very sorry to hear he died... I wish for you God's Peace at this time.
