Brian Malcolm Horstead

HORSTEAD, Brian Malcolm, after a long fight, our dad passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2014 at the age of 71. Dad was a loving father to John Horstead (Tina) and Sheri Favot (Gary) and beloved partner of Jane Tucker. Brian will be missed by his former spouse and the mother of his children, Doris Horstead. Awesome papa to Dana, Matthew and Melissa. Dearest brother of Doug Horstead, Brenda Sochaski (Bill) and the late Patricia Horstead (2013) and Muriel Bennett (2008)(George). Brian will also be remembered and missed by many nieces and nephews, family members and friends, along with Grace Tucker-Couvillon (Jeff) and Jane's grandchildren. Waiting in heaven to greet him are his parents Doris Mary (2006) and Reginald (Harry) Horstead (1970). Our dad was honoured and very proud to be part of the Windsor Fire & Rescue Service and retired as Captain after 30 years. Dad loved the outdoors, especially boating and RVing. Many thanks to all the staff at Malden Park Tayfour Campus for their outstanding care and compassion. Friends and family will be received at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E., on Tuesday from 6-9pm and on Wednesday from 9-11am. A Celebration of his life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday February 12, at 11AM. Cremation to follow. Officiating will be Reverend Lance Smith. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Southwestern Ontario or the Windsor and Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
