Doris was a true "English" rose and it was in The "Sisters" pub. just around the corner from her mum's house, that I first met this lovely lady who was of course accompanied by her husband Charles and daughter Patsy. My wife Anna was the sister of Patsy's husband Paul and this was how we came to first meet Doris and Charles as My mother-in-law lived about two minutes walk from Doris's mother.The location was London Fields in Hackney, the very East End of London wher Charles was to courthis Doris all those years ago.
As the years passed we used to see Doris twice a year on their visits to England and we grew to love this tiny,demure lady who carried this enormous heart.She and Charles were always welcome to our house in Romford and we always invited them over so that Charles and I could drink beer and Doris and Anna (my wife) could drink tea. Yes I never knew Doris to drink alcohol or smoke a cigarette yet she could be a wow at any party or gathering.We were also lucky to make two visits to Canada and delight in her and Charles's hospitality. Doris, you have left us with some genuine and far reaching fond memories. Rest in peace my lovely and further brighten up peoples days in heaven. God Bless Anna and Brian

Grandma was always a true lady with the kindest heart and a terrific sense of humour. She was a small, beautiful package, but she was feisty and held her own.
I have many fond memories of Grandma  from parties in the their basement, visiting us in the many locations we lived, my university graduation, baby shower, wedding,etc.
One of my fondest and simplest memories was when Grandma and Grandmpa were visiting my Mom and Dad when I was home from university one summer. Grandma was in our backyard walking around smelling the flowers in our garden.  Grandpa looked out the window and said,"Isn't she beautiful?" Of course she was and always remained so, but what really got me was the way Grandpa truly felt about Grandma("mama"). As a young lady in my twenties and not married, I already knew that this was the kind of love and marriage that I wished for some day. 
I will miss you very much Grandma and will always think of you with love and fondest in my heart. Having you as my Grandma has and will always be a true blessing.

Grandma,
You were always beautiful, loving, caring and sweet. Brad, Jill and I cherished the time we spent with you and Grandad.  We loved coming to Windsor to see everyone and we would get so excited when you would come to visit us, where ever we were living.  You were a constant in our lives and you will always be in our hearts.  We didn't have the luxury to live close, but you always made us feel so loved and special.   Many fond, happy and fun moments were spent over the past 40+ years. 

You're grandchildren gravitated to you at functions.  They loved being around you, you were so loving and caring. You opened your arms to them and they ran to you to get those special cheek nuzzles. 

We will all miss you dearly Grandma.

I would always look forward to visiting Windsor and seeing all the relatives especially Grandma and Grandpa.Even when we were living far away and did not make it down as often as we liked, you made it seem like we had just left. You were always smiling and pinching cheeks.

Chas & your girls, my sincere condolences. I'm blessed to having been part of the Davis family and to get to know such a dignified and classy LADY as Doris. I can only imagine her thoughts of me when we first met after Charlie brought some boys home from work after a few hours at the bar. I remember just as we were walking in the side door Chas saying I want you to meet my Honey Bee. I didn't know that I was about to meet one of the most remarkable ladies of my life. She had such wit & humor (considering the circumstances) that I'd ever encountered and as we got to know each other through the years I just knew that she was truly a   special lady. I miss you all and I know that the cherished memories of your Honey Bee will last forever.
