87 years. Born in Windsor on March 14, 1930. Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Brouillette Manor on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Dear daughter of the late James & Eliza Dawson. Former wife of the late Douglas Norman Smith. Beloved mother of James Douglas Smith & former wife Donna, Norman Edward Smith. Dear grandmother of Dana, Eric, Ryan, Nova, Joshua and Brittany. Sister of Marjorie Dawson, Jim & his wife Paula and aunt of Laura Bates (Mike), David Dawson (Tracey) and Leisa Pieczonka (Nik). Ilene was a long time member of West Side Church of Christ where she is remembered as an inspiring Sunday School teacher. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue, (519) 254-3223 on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Anderson Chapel On Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Drew Chapados.
