John Harold Geary

Born August 1, 1929. Passed away peacefullly on April 8, 2013 at the age of 83 years, after a brief but brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Dearly missed by his loving wife Louise of 56 years. Loving father of Robert and wife Beverley Geary, Heather Dupuis, John and wife Linda Geary, Martin and wife Trish Geary. Cherished grandpa of Ryan, Greig, Evan, John Kyle, Ashley and Tyler. Also survived by his sisters-in-law Kathleen Krayacich, Shirley Geary, stepbrother Randy Meloche and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John Frederick and Lauradell (Merritt) Geary, his step father Edward Meloche, his sister Lyla Lernowich and his brothers Robert and Ronald Geary. John retired from Chrysler Supervision in 1987. He was a Royal Canadian Navy Veteran and continued his love of sailing as a member and past commodore of LaSalle Mariners Yacht Club. He was also an avid Recumbent Cyclist. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 58 years and a Past Master (1969) with the Thistle Lodge #34 A.F. & A.M. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue (519-254-3223) on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Veteran Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. under the auspices of the Naval Veterans Association, followed by a Masonic service at 7:30 under the auspices of the Thistle Lodge #34 A.F. & A.M. Funeral services will be held in the Anderson Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
