My mom passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017 at the age of 68. She was many things to many people: the loving ‘bride' of my father, Terry Scherback, for 46 years; proud mother of me and my husband, Michael; adoring Nana of her two awesome grandsons, Jack and Max; dear sister of Christine Dunn-Paci (Frank), Terri Belair (Jean), Rae Olive (Ted), Steve Dunn (Catrina), and Jeff Dunn (Liz); special sister in law of Donna Sanderson (Tim); devoted daughter of Mona and Glenn Dunn (predeceased); and fond daughter in law of Jo and Bill Scherback (predeceased). Mom will be missed by many friends, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins. Special thanks to Dr. Pizzuti, Dr. Kay, Dr. Pan and your staffs for compassionate care over the last three years. Also special thanks to Dr. Aoun and your staff for helping my parents navigate through these last few difficult months. Thank you to Kelly, Stephanie and Seanna for your supportive care given to mom at home. And thank you to the nurses on 4th Floor Oncology for your kind and gentle care of mom in her last days. As per mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home (1969 Wyandotte St, E., Windsor) on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 4pm-7pm. A celebration of mom's life will follow on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, and if you wish, donations may be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Transition to Betterness, or The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. My mom was a beautiful woman who appreciated meaningful relationships with people, her garden, classical music on the clock radio in her bedroom, a good pie crust, good humour, good fashion sense, and an iced vodka martini straight up. Long live her beauty, forever in us all. – Andrea Brown www.walterdkellyfuneralhome.com
