March 9, 1932 - October 5, 2014
It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent Liptok announce the sudden and unexpected passing of their father at the age of 82. Vince amazed many people including the doctors and nurses for the past three years while courageously battling cancer. He rarely felt sick and was always raring to go. Vince was the husband of the late Joanne (nee Damphouse, 1999); father of Mark (Terry) and grandfather of Lindsay, Tyler, Jacob, Eric, Max and Shelbie, his daughter Cathy Brklacic (friend Steve) and grandfather of Sarah, Frank and Emily, his daughter Laurie Chappell (husband Bruce) and grandfather (Pa) of Julia and Alexander and his daughter MaryBeth Hewitt and her children Michael, Matthew and Stephanie. Vince is also survived by his sister Helen Lajeunesse. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary and his brother Tony. He was a faithful member of Most Precious Blood Church and in later years, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Vince was an employee of Essex Welders Supply where he was the purchasing agent for many years. Vince was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family members who all shared important parts in his very full life and will also be sadly missed by his dear friend Mary. Our dad enjoyed many things including coin collecting, golfing, fishing, the occasional visit to the Casino, his many visits to Florida and the many vacations with his children and grandchildren. Let's not forget all the shopping trips. Dad (Grandpa), we will all miss you terribly and you will always be in our hearts. You were the centre of our lives and it is our joy to know that you are now with mom (Grandma). We love you. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor, Ontario (519) 254-3223 on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., with Parish Prayers at 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 834 Raymo Road, on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Fr. Dennis Wilhelm. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery, LaSalle. If desired, memorial donations to honour Vince can be made to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JRDF).
