Surrounded by his family, Benjamin “Ben” Vergara Bayanin passed away on July 18, 2023 at the age of 80. Ben was predeceased by his beloved father and mother; Feliciano and Romana and his loving wife Carmen. Left to cherish his memory are his son Bradley (Nancy), daughter Cheryl (Geoff) and four grandchildren, several siblings, nieces, nephews and friends living in Canada, the Philippines and across the world.
In 1971, Ben immigrated from the Philippines to Winnipeg, MB to start a new life. Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Manuel L. Quezon University - School of Engineering & Architecture in the Philippines. After immigrating to Winnipeg, he worked at Federal Pioneer Limited as a senior Mechanical Design Draftsman.
Lamay will be held on Friday July 28, 2023 from 6:00pm – 11:00pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB. A Funeral Service and Reception will take place on Saturday July 29, 2023 at 10:00am at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, followed by Interment at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St.
