Peacefully on February 26, Bertha passed away to be reunited with her husband Jack after 68 years of marriage.
They both shared a love of the North, in particular, Herb Lake where they first met and fell in love. They married in The Pas, where they spent their early years. As with others of this generation, their lives were marked by hard work. Dad worked with Transport Limited, taking him away from his family during the winter months. While he was away, Mom would spend time with her Mother at the store in Herb Lake.
Mom often reminisced about their years in The Pas. During these years Dad was actively involved with the Royal Canadian Legion while Mom was a member of the Order of Royal Purple. In 1965, they moved to Winnipeg, where they raised their family.
They will be lovingly remembered by their children; John (Lorraine),Pamela (Gary)and Carrie (Warren), five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
May they rest in peace.
