It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Louise de Moissac whom passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 2016 at the Victoria General Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Brenda is survived by her husband Andy, daughter Cara (Doug) and granddaughter Hannah Mae, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Brenda was born on August 11, 1954 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in the Elmwood area. At the young age of sixteen she started her career at BA Robinson where she proudly worked for over forty years before she retired. There she made many close friends and also met her devoted husband Andy. Brenda and Andy married on June 22, 1974 at St. Steven's United Church. Together they enjoyed camping, travelling, backyard pool parties and laughing with their many cherished friends and family.

Brenda was a kind, selfless woman. Many gravitated towards her in times of need, she was always there to lend an ear and offer her generous support. She adored all animals, especially her beloved dog Winston. Brenda had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour that she kept right until the end. Although she faced many challenges in her lifetime, she never gave up or complained. She was a fighter.

One of the happiest days of Brenda's life was the day that she became a mother. Cara was her world and she could not have been more proud of her daughter. They shared a very special bond that only got stronger with the birth of her granddaughter. Hannah was the greatest joy in her life and she savoured every moment she spent with her. They shared a beautiful love.

She will be deeply missed and her memory forever cherished by all that knew her.

A special thanks to the staff at the Victoria Hospital for taking such good care of Brenda.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.
