It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Bruce Milton Steen who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Victoria Hospital.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Pat, son Ken (Sonja), daughter Dawna (Ken), his precious granddaughter Selena (David), and special great-granddaughter Rose.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Milton and Eva, sisters Vivian and Marion, and brothers Irwin and Willis. He will be remembered by his brother Byron (Betty), sister-in-law Linda, inlaws Nancy (Peter), Larry, and Judy as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
Bruce was born in Carberry and attended a one room school house in Gregg until attending high school in Carberry. After graduation he moved to Winnipeg to work in the Land Titles office, lived above Anne's Coffee Shop on Corydon, and that's where he met Pat who worked across the street at MTS. They married and lived on Warsaw for a short time before moving to Windsor Park in 1967.
In 1992 they moved to Sandy Hook where he was able to continue his love of gardening. He really had a "green thumb" and their yard at "The Hook" next to the 17th fairway was like a park. Due to health reasons, they moved back to Winnipeg in 2013 and called The Enclave home since. He loved gardening, golfing, curling, the Jets, and volunteering with the Winnipeg Blues.
Bruce made many wonderful friendships over the years and let us all remember the good times, there were so many.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
