I can not express how deeply saddened I am of the passing of Carmelo. My sincere condolences to Sandi,Brody and brothers Ralph and Tony and his parents. I’ve known Carmelo over 45 years. I can vividly recall our first meeting. It was around the early 70”s. Carmelo looked kind of shy so I thought maybe I could make him laugh by being silly and walking in front of him and he would stick out his leg and I would pretend to trip. We both laughed and became friends ever since. Growing up we religiously played street hockey and other sports, rode our bikes and just did whatever. I witnessed his marriage and the birth of his son. Not to mention the hundreds of dinners at his place watching hockey and having a few brewski”s. Those were good bonding times. Carmelo was a loyal friend. He was a man of principal and knew his priorities. Later in life during his illness he showed strength and determination. An inspiration to all of us. Ciao my friend. One day we’ll take hockey shots together. Sincerely your friend Aldo Albanese

I got to know carmelo a little bit through his son Brody who I worked with at selkirk gm for a long time. He was always friendly towards me and always had something interesting to talk about. He even yelled at myself and brody for hooking the chains up wrong on on his trailer and leaving our mess of an ice fishing shack in his yard. The three of us had a good laugh after it was all said and done. So sorry for your loss

Carmelo was a man's man.....tough in spirit.....the stories he would tell when he worked at CN, the work that many people would not do (dangerous). He spoke of his family often.....the love for his son Brody was at the highest, proudest level that could not be possibly match. Carmine spoke much of his son, it seemed to be the central light in his life next to his wife as a family unit. Always there for his elderly parents at a drop of a pin. A Father, a husband and a son no one possibly could be respected more as a family man.

Have no idea where you might be now but, I am sure if there is pizza being served the rule will be take the next available slice don't pick from anywhere else.

I will always remember how welcoming he always was. He was the sweetest, most genuine person. He will definitely be missed, by many.
