

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Ditchfield with family by her side on September 16, 2025, at the age of 78.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Debra Craig (Shane) and Deanna Ditchfield, grandchildren; Bryan Ditchfield (Jessica), Brittany Reimer (Eric), Kent Craig (Anne), Megan Barwick (Ryan), Nicole Watt (Jordan), great-grandchildren; Marika Reimer, Kaylee Reimer, Skylar Barwick, Calum Reimer, Taylor Barwick, Joel Reimer, William Ditchfield, Leif Reimer, Theodore Ditchfield, Fallon Barwick, Franklin Ditchfield and Brayah Watt, siblings; Patricia (Gail) Liebrecht, Bonnie Freeman Mowat and Bill Mowat, nieces and nephews; Darren Liebrecht, Corrie Liebrecht, Marla Maxwell, Derek Salchert, Ryan Mowat and Travis Mowat, along with their families.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Wellington and Thelma Mowat and niece, Lee Ann Mowat.
Carol was born in Selkirk, MB and lived in Lockport for many years, helping to take care of her younger siblings.
Carol married Gary Ditchfield at the age of 18, after many years of dating beforehand. They raised two daughters and owned a farm in Inwood, MB in which they loved going to in their spare time. During their marriage they lived in Brooklands, Inwood and then built their home in Headingly. Carol moved to BC in the late 70’s where her sisters and their children lived for many years, until moving back to Manitoba to be closer to her girls.
Carol had several careers some being: hair dressing, Winnipeg Photo, Flag girl on many BC highways and Security Officer.
Carol loved her animals. Before moving to BC, she and Gary would raise and train Labrador Retrievers and won many ribbons and trophies at various field trials. She also loved her talking Cockatoos, Whiskey and Zipper.
Carol loved Elvis Presley and antiques, especially old cars. Her favorite shows to watch were live police shows, Forensic Files and Homicide Hunter. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, puzzles, socializing and in the last few years took up coloring.
Carol’s wishes were to have a private family funeral at Brookside Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the wonderful messages, thoughts and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal shelter of your choice in Carol’s memory.
