Channa Thach

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our angel Channa on January 5th, 2022 at the age of 34. Channa will be sadly missed by her husband Mike, her son Sammy, parents Vantha and Naum and her sister Sophary.

Channa was born on May 5th, 1987 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She dedicated her life working as a nurse with equanimity, being a loving full-time wife, fur mom, daughter and sister. Channa is compassionate, kind, loving, open-mind and a heart of gold. She was a self-less soul who thought of others before herself. In the last 10 years Channa fearlessly battled Lupus while having a positive outlook on life.

Channa was known for her love of BTS. She would wake up at 4 A.M. in the morning to attend their online concerts in Korea, if that wasn’t true dedication then we don’t know what is. She loved to bake delectable deserts and prepare grand gourmet cuisines, some of you may know her as “Eats with C”. She did not only enjoy eating great food, but she was also that girl hitting all the right angles with her Camera. Those who were lucky to even have cross paths with Channa, let alone be blessed with sharing a friendship with her will forever have irreplaceable memories. When she would enter a room, you could feel her kindness, a kindness that is unforgettable.

The world has become a little emptier and colder since Channa’s passing. It is a little quieter without that laugh of hers and we’ve lost a little more light without her smile. Heaven has truly gained an angel as we say “see you later” to our very own earth angel. As her bright, beautiful soul continues to move forward into the universe, we know we will see Channa again.

A Celebration of Channa’s life will be held on January 15, 2022 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the ICU staff on 5E at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and delicate care for Channa.
