
Claudette Mary Jacob was born on February 5th 1937 to parents Joseph Adams and Berthe Adams née Gauthier. She passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2023 in Winnipeg Manitoba. She is survived by her 2 children, Mona Jacob and Allen Carswell and granddaughters Emily Chapates and Katelyn Chapates. Brothers and sisters: George, Dennis, Claude, Edward, Alfred, Jerry, Paul, Leroy, Arthur, John, Norbert, Mona, Anne-Marie and Therese.
In her early career, she worked as a nurse’s aid with the Grey Nuns in Winnipeg. She expressed with fondness the joy she had in helping others. Later, she became a waitress and worked as such until she retired. Claudette used to work next to the old Forum in Montreal where she often met and served celebrities and hockey players. She once recognized Paul Simon on the news and remarked that she served him a clubhouse sandwich that day. She met multitudes of hockey players and would talk about how the players were very respectful and ate lots of pasta before the game. She served everyone with excellence, and she took great pride in what she did. She demonstrated the epitome of professionalism.
Claudette was an active member of the church, her faith in The Lord Jesus was engrained in her life. She enjoyed singing and playing guitar, and led the choir at her church for a number of years. Claudette loved and cared for others - she was extremely selfless and would help anyone in need. She lived a simple life and would give all she could to help others.
When her granddaughters were born, they became the light of her life. Claudette cherished her grandchildren dearly and gave them all the love in the world. There is nothing more that she loved than to spend time with them.
In 2012, Claudette when to live at Poseidon Care Center where she resided until she passed. The staff were caring, compassionate and took excellent care of her. We are extremely grateful to all the staff who cared for her.
Her humanitarian spirit and kind memory will live on through her family. While she is now at peace, she will be dearly missed.
