It is with saddened hearts that we announce that Daisy Butler passed away, surrounded by love, on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Tuxedo Villa. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Peggy, and her two beloved granddaughters, Tamara and Stacy, sister-in-law Val Taylor, niece Jamie (Brian), nephews Peter and Ron, and many nieces and nephews on her husband's side. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence, sisters, Ivy and Violet, brother Roy and her son-in-law, Vilis. Daisy worked for the Department of National Defence and was a long time member of Niakwa Country Club and St. Luke's Anglican Church. She enjoyed many summers at Victoria Beach. My Mom had chosen to write the above obituary many years ago. I would like to add that her fun-loving nature was loved by all. She was always ready for a party and often led the sing-songs. Family dinners always included one of Daisy's jokes. She was the ultimate (grand) parent and her strength and tenacity inspired us all. Thanks for the love and the laughter. We would like to thank Tuxedo Villa for the excellent care and especially Val and Ryan. Remembrance service will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, 130 Nassau (corner of Stradbrook & Nassau). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Luke's Building Fund, 130 Nassau St. N., Winnipeg, MB., R3L 2H1.
