Surrounded by his family, Danny passed away peacefully at home after a very short battle with Cancer, at the age of 71 years. Remaining to forever cherish his memory are his beloved wife Marilyn, dog Bentley; daughter Danielle; son Jared (Donna); stepson Jarrod (Christine); stepdaughter Melissa (Kevin); son-in-law Shane, brothers Jim (Jackie), Bud (Buddy); grandchildren Gage, Colton, Paige, Jayce, Keerstin, Ayden, Avery, Corey (Tamara), Alyssa (Patrick), Kristian; great-grandchildren Aria, Knox, Aubrey, Dustin, Zayden, Jaxon, Axel, Charlotte as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and so many close dear friends. Danny was predeceased by his parents Anne and Harry, Uncle Cliff, brothers Jack, Kenny; sisters Peggy, Nancy and Barbara.
Danny was a very hard worker with a joyful kind soul who enjoyed spending as much time as he could with family. He grew up in West Kildonan and family and friends were a very important part of his life.
Danny loved spending time with his wife Marilyn, if it was going to the casino, gardening or enjoying the fabulous trips they spent together but one of his true passions was coaching and mentoring others. Even though his favorite sport was football he encouraged all to achieve their individual passion regardless of what that may have been.
Danny’s family would like to thank the palliative home care nurses for their care and compassion throughout his journey. In keeping with Danny’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial reception celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00am at the Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Before the Bridge Senior K9 Rescue or Sunrise Coyotes Football.
Until we meet again with arms wide open, rest in peace. We will love you forever and always.
