He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Natalie White, his brothers, Keith, Terry (Kim), Dale (Sandra) and Richard (Cathy), his nieces and nephews, Katherine (John), Breann, Chase, Keith (Kristina), Sean (Catherine), Matthew and Bradley, great-nephews and niece, Johnny and Aiden, Kalee and Jason, and his treasured friend of many years, Don Budlong.
He was predeceased by his sister, Sherry Wilson, and his former companion, Lori Pelletier.
David was raised in south St. Vital, the youngest of six children. He grew up under the watchful eyes of his mother, older brothers and sister. Through their support and guidance, he developed into a sensible, compassionate, fun-loving and confident young man. After graduating from Red River College, David immediately began his career with the TD Bank. During his tenure, he relocated a total of 18 times, assuming various roles of increased responsibility and complexity.
He returned to Winnipeg in late 2011, when he became the District-Vice President for Manitoba until his retirement. David was passionate about his career and excelled in the financial services industry. His expertise was in Human Resources, as he truly understood how to listen, develop and motivate people. He was often called upon for his advice, guidance and mentorship.
David had a passion for Las Vegas, good friends, fine food and aboriginal art, all of which he shared with Don. He also developed a love for "bad" golf and after some initial hesitation, with encouragement from Don, an appreciation for opera. He was also very proud of the work he did with various organizations over the years including Junior Achievement, TD Friends of the Environment, the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities/Easter Seals and the Manitoba Opera. His dedication and contribution to all these organizations has been invaluable.
We will miss you David with all our hearts and we will cherish our memories of you forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
