Dorothy Sylvia Edwards passed away peacefully on Sunday May 15, 2011.
Dorothy was born in Winnipeg on February 26, 1922 to Alice and Arthur Edwards.
She is survived by her niece Sharron Andrew (Bob), great-nephews Paul Isaak and family and Andre Isaak in Calgary, and niece Sharen Martinson in Winnipeg.
She was predeceased be her sister Ivy Martinson, brother-in-law Arden Martinson, nephew Edward Martinson and lifelong friend Marge Crawley.
Dorothy worked for many years at Bristol Aerospace but had to leave due to health reasons. She was an ardent opera fan and had an extensive collection of albums.
She made her home at Thorvaldson Care Centre for several years and then moved to Poseidon Care Centre in 2010. The family would like to thank the staff at Thorvaldson and Poseidon for their excellent care of and kindness to Dorothy.
A graveside will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7 at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street.
In lieu of flowers donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way Winnipeg, R3T 0R3.
