Eric Allan Abrey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Eric Abrey. Eric was surrounded by all his loving family when he passed on June 27th 2023. At the time of his passing, he was 67 years old.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Arlene, his two sons Warren (Desneige) and David (Alene), his grandchildren Terri, Becket, Donovan, and Logan, as well as his sister Joyce, his brother Leslie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eric is predeceased by his sister Barb, and his parents, Allan and Onie.

Eric was an exceptionally patient and kind person. Eric and Arlene had a very special relationship and did most everything together throughout their 47 years of marriage.

He took great joy in golfing, woodworking, helping anyone in need, a long ride on his motorcycle, puzzling, solving logic problems, and spending time on the water and in the wilderness.

Eric could fix just about anything given the right tools, and some time.

This is a special skill that he passed along to his sons of which they are very appreciative of.

Eric had a special sense of humour that was appreciated by almost all.

Following Eric’s wishes a cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life is planned for 3-6 pm on July 12th at 280 Harvard Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric’s memory can be made for research at Cancer Care Manitoba or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family would like to thank all the friends and family that reached out and came to visit Eric in his last days; it brought him a great deal of joy.

The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the Manitoba Palliative Care Team and Dr. Amrit Malik (St. Boniface Heart Function Clinic) for their exceptional service and care.
