Evadna (Eva) peacefully passed into the presence of Her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served. She seldom missed an opportunity to let others know that she was praying for them. She will be remembered by her smile, positive attitude, being organized and a great listener.
Eva was born in Barbados where she accepted The Lord as a teenager. She came to Winnipeg in December, 1970. She lived and worked for the Corne family, who became her Winnipeg family to present time. She graduated in 1975 from St. Boniface LPN program. She then graduated in 1979 from the Misericordia School of Nursing RN program.
Eva worked at St. Boniface Hospital for 28 years. She worked in peritoneal dialysis for 23 years instructing patients, family, staff in rural hospitals and nursing stations to do home peritoneal dialysis. Eva retired from nursing in 2003.
Eva was a camp nurse at Faith Bible Camp (Victoria Beach) from 1990-2003. She also volunteered at “Things” for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet for over 10 years.
“God has blessed me with many caring, wonderful friends. Thank you for over 40 years of friendship, your prayers, caring, encouragement, being there for me throughout my journey. In good times and difficult times. Special thanks to Alice and Brian Thomson & Ian Corne for always being there for me during healthy times, illness and death.”
