

Gerry was born in Salamanca, Spain on April 4, 1948, and moved to Canada for greater opportunity in 1967.
Remaining to cherish Gerry’s memory are his wife, Gilda; four sons, Sebastian, Victor, David & Steven, and his brother Delfin (Rosa) in Winnipeg; in Spain, his sister, Teresa; and two other brothers, Agustin (Mari), Ignacio (Lola). In Argentina, his mother-in-law Immacolata Mauro, sister-in-laws Lina (Osvaldo) and Maria, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Agustin Martin and Julia Garcia, and father-in-law Gaetano Grande.
Gerry spent most of his life working as a union carpenter for PCL, retiring in 2013. Gerry was a very gifted carpenter, he enjoyed working with his hands, and watching tennis and golf. Gerry had a great sense of humour and would always lend a helping hand when asked.
The family would like extend their thanks to all the doctors and staff that took care of him.
Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. with the viewing starting at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St.
A private interment will follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba and/or Riverview Health Centre.
