Graciela Santiago Polintan or better known as “Grace” to her family and friends, at the age of 87, joined our Creator peacefully after a lingering illness due Alzheimer’s disease on November 30,2023 at Health Science Centre.
Graciela was born on December 05, 1935 in the Philippines where she spent most of her life together with her late husband Constancio Polintan and their children. Nanay Grace worked at La Perla Industries for a long time at a very young age to support her family. They migrated in Winnipeg, Canada and was able to worked in Westin Hotel as housekeeper.
Nanay Grace was a simple, humble, caring and loving woman, wife, mother and grandmother. All she wanted in her life is to support, give happiness and take care of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her teleseryes and all the shows in TFC (The Filipino Channel).
Nanay Grace is survived by her sister Editha Dayrit (Milo), her children Martina (Abeth) with sons Mark ( Madison) and Michael, Federico Sr.(Josie) with sons Jerico (Kim), Fhed Junior (Berna) and Jhed (Allison) Gina (Allan) with her sons Paolo (Avigaile) grandchildren Isasiah and Mathias, Marco and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband Constancio, her parents Federico and Teofila Santiago, brother Jorge Santiago and sister in law Luzviminda “Lucy” Santiago.
We would like to thank the doctors and medical personnel at Health Science Centre Emergency and New Women’s Hospital WN and Evangeline Natoza and the caregivers that provided the care, support and comfort to our Nanay Grace needed in this difficult time.
A Lamay for Graciela will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 11:59 PM at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB.
